Working Holiday Visa for Australia allows individuals from certain eligible countries to work while they are on a holiday in Australia. This program is designed to maintain closer ties between Australia and eligible countries. However, this visa program is not suitable for those who are seeking permanent employment in Australia.
This program is divided into the following sub classes:
Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417):
Working Holiday Visa subclass 417 is for individuals between the age group of 18 to 31 years belonging to eligible countries to work in Australia full-time, part-time or volunteer for a year while he/ she is on a holiday in Australia. It is essential that the individual has enough finances to cover his/ her expenses and should not have any dependents accompanying along.
Benefits of this Visa:
- Stay in Australia for up to 12 months
- Work in Australia (for the duration of the visa)
- Study in Australia (short courses up to 4 months)
- Travel to and from Australia until the visa is valid
Work and Holiday Visa Subclass 462:
The Work and Holiday visa subclass 462 is similar to Working Holiday Visa subclass 417 offering the same features and benefits to its visa holders i.e allowing them to work full-time, part-time or volunteer during their holidays in Australia ensuring they spend no less than 6 months with each employer. One has to make to sure he/she has sufficient finances to cover expenses during his stay and does not have any dependents accompanying him.
